Cotton Buffing Wheels
Has anyone got any ideas on how to clean the cotton buffing wheels used on a bench grinder? They tend to clog up with wax and stain light timber.

Hmm,
What about a piece of coarse grit sandpaper (60?) glued to a block and applied to the bottom of the wheel (so if it grabs then the block will be pulled away from you). The sandpaper should remove the wax along with a fair bit of cotton fiber (similar to dressing a grinding wheel). Just a thought, not practical experience.
