EVERYONE ELSE? I think not old son. Like the original poster I have better things to do with my time. It may be mildly OK the first time ( if you REALLY like synchronised swimming, or something equally rivetting), but after the 50th repeat from our "expert-on-every-bloody-thing" in the studio, who, in reality has never set foot out of Woy Woy (no insult intended Woy Woyians), I get an almost irresistable urge to kill something! ANYTHING!
There.....Gasp! I feel much better now. Where's the bluddy beer?

I, not having access to cable/satelite TV, have laid in a supply of DVDs & good books, for those hours of the day when the neighbours might object to my crashing about in the garage trying to convert it into a workshop - crashing about because the only light fitting has decided to give up the ghost - now I'll HAVE to get a sparky in to fix it, and I probably should get some more fluoro's put in as well, and some permanent powerpoints and..............

You cant escape them.. I promise. When the olympics were on She who and I went all the way to mongolia, We were just about to go to sleep, when the old lady running the B&B where we were staying, came running into the room, waving her arms and saying the only word of English she new, over and over. "AUSTRALIA".
We came running expecting something nasty had just happened, and it was just the !@#$% opening ceromany.
We wnt to the furtherest place from Sydney we could think of to getr away from it and... The !@#$ thing followed usI may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

Actually it's what would have happened to me if my beloved had come home and caught me in the middle of this.
But I lived to tell the tale, and catch the games updates on the news to boot!

Im happy i get to come home to work at the Comm Games im paying my own way as the vol workers all have to do i work at the swimming and hockey and am part of a medal presentaion team and look after VIP's while they are in for presentaions ... IM happy will have a brilliant time
and im very proud to be able to represent austraila to the rest of the watching world .... this is my thaught and to be honest if people dont like it hey thats kewl ... so watch the swimming finals and the hockey ones 2 and watch out for the short, long dark haired lady with the vip's ....
