Default Painting over Bathroom Wall Tiles

Was wondering what the best method would be for painting over bathroom wall tiles.
I would like to spray over the tiles to get the best finish, as I am worried about brush marks.
Can someone advise the best method for spray painting and the type of paint to use.?
I've thought about the White Knight products, but aren't they manily brush applied?

Yes White Knight is applied with a brush but if you spend the money on a decent brush, you won't get brush marks. It levels out really well.

I've used it a few times now and I'm no expert painter. Make sure you prep it well and it will work a treat.

Also did an old enamel sink in a rental property with White Knight. Still looks perfect after 3 years of dishes.

    cheers

I've used the White Knight stuff, and yes there are definately brush marks at first, but somehow they just disappear to leave you with a nice smooth finish.

The first thing that you need to do is prepare the tiled surface with a product like ESP - (no not extra sensory perception!) Easy Surface Preparation. This enables paint to bond with any glossy surface. Once this has been applied to the area you can brush or spray and the paint will not peel off at a later date.

I have painted wall tiles with White Knight tile & tub the only problem with it if you chip the wall in any way it will peel,
So i use White Knight tile paint with its undercoat ESP will not work with this product as its undercoat has the same effect. And the tile paint can be tinted to any colour you wish.

I have Zinsser BullsEye that I am using as the undercoat. It says it is good for tiles...

    http://www.zinsser.com.au/html/Zinss...lls-Eye123.htm

then can I use any enamel over the top?

I simply sugar soaped the tiles then wiped off with clean water..hopefully this was enough preping - I know see you should actually do more!!

    Bugger - just read this

"Comprehensive instructions are supplied with the paint. You will need to prepare the surface for the paint. Thoroughly clean the tiles with an abrasive powder and then sand the tiles (320 wet and dry) to take away the shiny finish. A quick rinse with warm water and the tiles are ready for painting."

Will I have to redo it??

It is in a bathroom also.

Also, would it have worked if I just mix penetrol with the enamal paint instead of the undercoat first...?

I've used the White Knight product and provided the instructions are followed and the correct undercoat is used, results are very good.
No signs of paint peeling after 18 months.
