Yes. Get your mum to sit in front of the computer and wait until you get a private message and then she can SMS you

nah, technically shes not a teacher but a teachers aid.
any way she works in a skool, she kinda specialises in computer teaching.

There is more than one way to skin a cat. Rather than the direct way I prefer the indirect method.

So whilst the board will not send a SMS directly, you can configure it to send you an email notification of a new pm. Then you can configure your email program to send you an sms when you receive such notification.

Ah yes, the vital needs of the youth of today. When I bought my latest mobile the bloke behind the counter was quite shocked when I asked for a phone that just made phone calls.

I'm so sorry Al, but I can't help myself.

When I came here many years ago, I learned the old system of spelling correctly, proper sentence construction and punctuation. You see my SCHOOL teachers thought that it would help in communicating with others if we could do things correctly. Strange wasn't it.

Not like today where they can't spell or enunciate themselves. I know it is my loss, not being able to be like the kids of today:eek: , but under today's policy of multi-culturism we can get interpreters from the government so they can translate what the kids are saying to us.

Sturdee I don't think that you have anything to apologise for. When I txt my wife while I am away working I always type you not u because I like using proper english. Personally some of the english used in this post is just pure laziness ( or maybe we are not cool enough to use crappy english?).
Have a nice day - Cheers
