Yet Another Scam?
I got an email today asking for me to update my account details with the ANZ bank.
Funny that as I dont have an account with them.

I got one as well Ian , same thing am not an ANZ customer
The E-mail looked good though , I can see how some people may be fooled as to following the link , but surely anyone smart enough to be able to use e-mails wouldn't be so stupid as to give out info, then again there are some dills out there or they wouldn't bother with the scam
Don't know what the link looked like , just deleted it from the virus list

I got one that was supposed to be from the CBA.
I forwarded it to the real CBA so they could get their security people onto it & the silly bugas promptly gave me a lecture about never ever ever blah blah blah etc etc etc.
I binned it; be buga'd if I'll bother sending on any scams to them in the future, turkeys.Cliff.

If it makes you feel any better go here
http://www.ahtcc.gov.au/ocrmain.aspx
Fill out the form for the Australian High Tech Crime Centre.. at least you have done your bit for the low life scam artists
I found this by going to the Australian Federal Police site, and searching on "Email Scams"I try and do new things twice.. the first time to see if I can do it.. the second time to see if I like it

Good one Brudda; guess what they said?

None, just a lecture.Cliff.

Cliff,
maybe you need to return the favour and give them a lecture, including the quote from the HTCC and ask them why they are giving you a hard time when the HTCC quote infers that they are responsible for following it up. The you could go on to say that if they have a problem with people bringing these cases to their attention then they need to take the issue up with the HTCC.

I've had these too, from every bank except the one I'm with.
It's a bit sus when I get one from Wesbank (I think it was) who don't even have local branches.Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.
