    Default Attaching trim without nails

    Dear all,

A piece of trim that covered the edge of a kitchen cabinet has fallen down. It was attached by a few blobs of a yellow/brown glue. I would like to reattach the strip but which glue should I use and how to secure it to the wall/cabinet so the glue can take. There are no nail holes in sight, so do you just stand there and apply pressure for a few hours  .

Scrape all the old glue off before you apply new glue.
    Pva should work
(or contact adhesive or liquid nails though they can be a bit messy to use)
Hold the trim on with masking tape till the glue sets

Edge clamps if you have any or use G clamps and three pieces of timber as follows:

A piece on clamped on both sides with the third piece pressing against the strip but held with clamps between the side pieces and the piece holding the strip.

Another way is masking tape or fast setting glue such as superglue.

If the original strip was ironed on, then perhaps running over it with an iron might fix it with a bit of extra hot melt glue.

Actually, you'll find clear packing tape to work better. You can put more pressure on it.
