Where to Get Some Rosin
Hi
I am trying to find some Rosin . To use in an old finishing formular that I have used many moons ago. It was boiled linseed oil, natural turps, and rosin.
In those days just about every hardware/paint store kept it. Now it seems to be as hard to find as hen's teeth.
I have done a search of the Forum and Google but no luck. My location is Knox, will travell a reasonable distance if I need to.

Rob,
players of bowed instruments (violins, cellos etc) use rosin in block form to dress their bows. I'm sure a music shop could help you with this. Otherwise rock climbers and gymnasts use rosin powder for grip on their hands. A climbing centre or sports store should be able to help you there. BTW, what is rosin made from?

Goods and Chattels have a website so presumably they wouldn't have a problem selling to non-locals. Here's the link: http://www.goodsandchattels.com/

I have scored about 300 grms from our local squash centre for free as they have not used it for many years.

I visited this site tonight, it was good they do stock gum rosin @ $11.00 a Kg.
The best part was I have now got the name right. I had been searching for rosin, and getting nowhere fast. Now that I am seaching for Gum Rosin I am getting more hits.
