Good Australian computer forum?
Good morning all,
I am in the market for a new printer for our computer.
2 questions.
1/ Does anyone out there subscribe to an Australian computer forum (like this pearl of wisdom, but in a computer sense)? If so could you send out a link for me.
2/ Are there any members out there who could recommend a good, reasonably cheap multifunction printer (don't really want to go above $450).
Doesn't need to print photos all that much, needs to be colour, needs to have pretty good scanning capabilities. Other than that doesn't really bother me.
Any help muchly appreciated, as my wife has been without a printer for 3 weeks and the strain is very apparent.Cheerio.

I have a Canon Pixma MP780
Works great, can even print CD or DVD labels direct onto them. Also the inks can be very cheap, I get 2 full sets for about $50. Not originals but work as good. Also does doublesideing feed etc. And you can get them for about that price too.

PC Authority had it as one of their top buys as well. I have had HP's and Epsons but this has been better by far.
I get my cartridges from CartridgeDepot.com.au

Shannon,
How old is your computer ? make sure that it can drive your new printer
I fell into this trap some years ago when I bought a new printer for
a five year old computer - took two minutes to print a page !!

Good to know as HP was choices 1st choice with epson 2nd and 3rd, so it's good to have another opinion with someone who has used both in more than just a test environment.
When I head down the road I might look at a couple of 'puter mags as well, hadn't thought of thatCheerio.
