    XERXES:
    The aqueduct.
    REG:
Oh. Yeah, yeah. They did give us that. Uh, that's true. Yeah.
    COMMANDO #3:
    And the sanitation.
    LORETTA:
Oh, yeah, the sanitation, Reg. Remember what the city used to be like?
    REG:
Yeah. All right. I'll grant you the aqueduct and the sanitation are two things that the Romans have done.
    MATTHIAS:
    And the roads.
    REG:
Well, yeah. Obviously the roads. I mean, the roads go without saying, don't they? But apart from the sanitation, the aqueduct, and the roads--
    COMMANDO:
    Irrigation.
    XERXES:
    Medicine.
    COMMANDOS:
    Huh? Heh? Huh...
    COMMANDO #2:
    Education.
    COMMANDOS:
    Ohh...
    REG:
Yeah, yeah. All right. Fair enough.
    COMMANDO #1:
    And the wine.
    COMMANDOS:
    Oh, yes. Yeah...
    FRANCIS:
Yeah. Yeah, that's something we'd really miss, Reg, if the Romans left. Huh.
    COMMANDO:
    Public baths.
    LORETTA:
And it's safe to walk in the streets at night now, Reg.
    FRANCIS:
Yeah, they certainly know how to keep order. Let's face it. They're the only ones who could in a place like this.
    COMMANDOS:
Hehh, heh. Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh.
    REG:
All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
    XERXES:
    Brought peace.
    REG:
    Oh. Peace? Shut up!

I was going to post "splinters!!" but I reminded myself of David Brent (The Office), which is a bit sad, so I changed my mind.

Back on topic: "Sewage", or "sewerage".

Lets agree that the first post free of spelling/grammar/puntuation mistakes wins? This thread can be the thread for BB spelling nazis to get it off.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

    You lose, Zen!!

I think my first post to this thread meets those criteria and so therefore I proclaim myself the winner.

Nah Grammar is wrong (not Grampa)

"so I therefore proclaim myself the winner"

    or "and therefore, I proclaim"

What I hate about English is the debateable rules, lol Maths is pure!

I disagree, there is nothing at all wrong with "so therefore I proclaim myself ..."

If anything, it could use a comma between "therefore" and "I" but it is optional.

However, I was referring to my first post to this thread which, as I have said, contains neither spelling, grammar, nor punctuation errors - none of my making anyway.

Don't mention the 'W' word. You have to spell it out around here. W O R K. So you don't upset anyone.

Very suitably edited...but takes on a completely different meaning.
I, too, would perish the thought of having to drink that Queensland rubbish!
