atleast your stomach will be nice and preserved

friend went the the Phillipines ones and they dry the rice on the footpath, people, chickens etc just walk through the stuff. They later scoop it all up and serve up for dinner .. with a few small stones thrown in

would love to travel in those areas one day, but the stories you hear about the food and water you really gotta wonder sometimes

I lived in Malaysia for 2 years. Yes the rice is on the road etc and meat is cut up on the footpath etc but......

The only time I ever got crook was from the green beer or trying to eat Aussie food that had been frozen and rethawed, usually a few times. Resturants with fridges were bad for it but eating from the local Mukan carts etc, no problems.

Water? Who drinks water anyway? lol.

Trouble with kids getting sick these days is that the parents won't let them eat dirt or snails or anything else they find on the floor. No chance to build up resistance.

Lived and worked in the Phillipines for 2 1/2 years, ate and drank everything including the water , and the only time I ever got crook was from a Macca's 1/4 Pounder.

Absolutely right, my kids have been encouraged to play in the dirtiest places I can find since they were tiny and neither of them has had a day off school with illness (except when my son got chickenpox) in the 5 years since my daughter started.

In and out of Asia for past 15 years never crook and always eat native.

One thing to beware of is their draught beer. They use formaldehyde as a preservative and it gives you the most awful headache. Stick with bottled.
