not entirely sure, nut Ihave a feeling that part of the terms that they play is that they get to wear the country colours. I don't think that the ACB give a stuff as long as they get to play.

Certainly interesting to watch. Currently 14th over with a run rate of 10 per over.
Have a nice day - Cheers

Kind of fun but hardly cricket.

I tend to agree that most 1 day are boring with the occasional pearler. They should just play more test cricket.

38,89t something spectators in the crowd, a record for that ground, and on a Monday night......

    Some body picked a winner.

It is not bad for a quick fix of cricket & that was the 'B' team.

40,000 bums on seats. $25? a seat makes a cool mil. Guess who really won.

Now watch them kill the golden goose. It was OK for a distraction, but as redwood said... "Roll on the Ashes".

I think it's just typical of modern society and it's short attention span. What's next? 30 minute halves? Sorry, but it just isn't cricket.

I dont think it will last. Sure they can support big crowds, but the big crowds won't keep coming if the games aren't competitive. Like the one against the Poms this one was over at half time

Maybe they could reduce it from 20/20 to 1/1 and play 20 games in one night. We could have a whole season in a weekend. Just think some players could play out their whole careers in one season of weekends!!

Of course it's not, but who said it was.

Like 50 overs, it's a fun GAME, and really entertaining. Better still was the ABC commentary with Kezza and Jimmy Maher going at it head to head.

At one point Skull asked if it was really a JJJ broadcast they were doing, because he reckoned it may be the last one they did on grown-up radio!

    cheers,

as much as its not cricket it will eventualy take over from 50over rubish. people can wander in from work see 40 fast overs of bowl and bash have a few beers relax and get home in time for a reasonably early night. Test cricket is the ONLY cricket. 50 over rott is at its biggest on the sub continant and if they do form a break away group like whats suspected then the rest of us might in a few years eventualy go the 20/20 way and ditch the 50 stuff

Well, it's like the "would of" "would have" argument. We can either have standards and principles, or to hell with the lot. Is nothing sacred?

Why bother playing the game at all? They could just decide it on the toss.
