Kitchen Benchtops
I am new to this forum and am looking to use a timber benchtop in the kitchen I am doing. Could anyone suggest a type of timber and where I could get it. I have heard of 'Camphor' bench's that are oiled. Is this hygenic, good looking etc.

There were a bunch of posts a few months ago on this very subject and why not to use an oil finish for kitchen benches. Unhygenic, to save you some time.
Box, jarrah etc finished with something like Estapol 7800 (is that the one?) epoxy will be hard wearing, heat resistant and easy to keep clean, as well as looking pretty flash.
We made our bench top out of a grade box t&g with the estapol finish. Refinished earlier this year after 14 years of abuse.
