That black cat was definitely bad luck Dan...for the fwit that lobbed the beer can.
You blokes do a job that most of us couldn't and wouldn't, and you do it with amazing restraint, and often little support from the pollys and courts.

    Have a great year.

to ward off bad luck you must touch wood, in fact you should touch as much as possible, as often as possible. You must do this until a year has passed. Only then can you be sure that the bad luck has rubbed off...

He does, it's called a baton
Sort of reminds me of the Benny Hill skit with his send up of Charlies Angels, playing tennis, close up shot, all looked perfectly innocent, pan out and the two girls are lobbing a crim up and down the court with batons, well, I thought it was funny.

Thanks for the well wishes all. As for the job...

I LOVE IT. Been at it for ten years and still love getting amongst it. There are parts of the job I hate though. I don't mind dealing with dic kheads, they make it very easy for me to give them tickets or put them in the book. I hate pulling dead people from cars. Especially when there is no real reason they should be dead (most of them). Worse still is going and telling their family. As Iain said, most of em are locals, so I generally know them quite well.

By far the worst thing in the job is the politics and bullshyte paperwork that gets bigger by the day. If I go to a domestic it takes most of a shift to do the paperwork...even the crappy verbal ones.

Anyway, the cat must not be a problem, haven't had any domestics since and the paperwork is up to date...almost.

Is there anything easier done than said?
