Traditional Wax
After freeloading on the Board for a few years, I finally bought some of Neil's products (Traditional wax, sanding sealer, hard shellac and polish restorer). Having just finished a blackwood "chest of baskets" sideboard top with sanding sealer and 3 coats of Trad wax, I'd like to say
a) I didn't realise that wax could be some shiny
b) I didn't think finishing could be fun!
c) the Chief Designer is finally satisfied with a finish I have produced!
A big thumbs up for Ubeaut products! I used to oil everything because it was quick and easy, but I'm now feeling confident to try some different finishes.
Of course, I now need a Swansdown buffer...."If something is really worth doing, it is worth doing badly." - GK Chesterton

and some EEE for your shellac finishes.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Help!
 Arrrrgh! After waxing lyrical about Tradiotnal Wax, I left the window open during a storm last night. The top got quite a few droplets of water on it and now there are dark brown spots and pitting of the surface where the droplets were.
How do I fix this? Do I need to strip it back to bare wood? Or just rub back with 400 grit? of just try to rebuff with another layer of wax?"If something is really worth doing, it is worth doing badly." - GK Chesterton
