Plumbing Connundrum
hello all, hope u can help , doing some tiling for a friend and she has asked if a showerbase could replace her currently tiled shower floor (hmmm)recessed into slab about 45mm shower floor is about 835 mm square.
"waste grate" is centered, any ideas??????cheers

Hazypond,
You should be able to break the floor up around the waste enough so that you can slip a fitting on and extend the pipe up. Then you can fill the recess and plonk the showerbase on top. If the waste in the base doesn't line up with the pipe you can use a fitting called a "plumdinger" to get it right. There's probably a few others available now too.

many thanks for your advice Mick! sounds achievable ,will let you know how i go. Have found simple/ useful plumbing advice the hardest of all to come by , think the code of reluctance emanates from the plumbers twilight zone aka the Reece Coffee Room cheers!
