For the first time since 1999 I forgot Remembrance Day on the forums. Bit late for a minutes silence so I hang my head and have gone down a different Remembrance track with the following:

In memory of the late great Noel Watson: Without Noel Renovate Forums would not have flourished and grown as it did after I appointed him as Administrator/Guardian of these forums when they were first moved off Woodwork Forums to their own web siteback in 2008. Noel was a moderator and administrator of WWF and Reno for 6 years.

Watson as he was known on the forums was a man or many faces. Rock n Roll singer and songwriter back in the 1950's and early 60's, Career Soldier of 20 years, singer songwriter (again/still), farmer of goats, woodworker, renovator, friend to all and enemy to a couple. Noel passed away Dec 2013 and is still missed by me and many others.

This is for Noel and for those who knew and loved him plus those who didn't know the man. This will let you see what we lost or missed out on.

Below is a link to Noel Watson Story. Click on the link for a lot more about a great man. Been gone a bit over 11 years now but definitely not forgotten by those of us who knew and loved him.

That Bloke With The Beard That Sang Waltzing Matilda:
The Noel Watson Story

It's a bit of a read but well worth it if you're interested.
The video is of Noel's iconic version of Waltzing Matilde at the 1988 VFL Grand Final in Melbourne

Noel also made regular appearances on the Ray Martin "Midday Show" and Bert Newton "Good Morning Australia" in the late 80's & 90's. Yesterday from the Midday Show.

If you watch more of Noels videos be warned that some of them may bring a tear to your eye especially if you knew him.

Hope this is of some interest and a bit of insight into who and what he was to many many thousand's of people.

Cheers - Neil
