Default Lead flashing on fence post

Hi, can I use lead flashing to cap a front fence post if I paint it? I mean are there any regs on this?
    cheers

Lead flashing is still used on tile roofs so I cannot see where there would be any regs to stop this, but why lead ?, why not just get a bit of colorbond or even zincaneel or zincalume and paint it.
Any sheet metal shop will even fold up a cap to suit.

Thanks. yes I know it’s still used for roofing, that’s why I have spare lead that I can use. I roof is a bit less accessible to hands, although I don’t understand how lead can be used on roofs attached to rain water tanks by the by. So it’s just that I have it in hand and I would paint it to be safe but you never know what the regulators have decided.

Use it in your fence posts, just don't let kids chew on them

Lead should never be used on roofs where the run off goes to a tank (which may be used for drinking).
