    Default Flashing for new windows

    I'm asking this for my daughter who has had a brick veneer wall cut out to install a big sliding door/window onto a new deck. There doesn't seem to be any flashing involved in the new installation, above or below, or to the sides. Is this the usual case?

    But might be excused if set back several metres under a verandah or similar
