I think you tried to post a photo, but it doesn't show (just a blank box). 1936 was a year of change, from cast brass "Wadkin & Co." tags, to tinned brass plate "Wadkin & Co." tags, to tinned brass plate "Wadkin Ltd" tags. The cast brass tags will have "Leicester, England" on the second line.

Whereas 1927 tags will have cast brass tags - probably with just "Leicester" in the second line (although "Leicester, England" tags may have been coming on line by then).

I look forward to seeing the tag photo.

    Cheers, Vann.

Sorry, I just did a copy & paste and on my pc the pics looked great, I didn't realize no one else could see them, that's a shame because I thought it was a quick way of getting big pic's posted.

So I will repost the pic's from my 2 earlier posts.

    ME Drawing.jpg

First Rob's 1928 catalogue illustration, from this I see the pull down levers being smaller and sharing the same shaft from the main casting, which is not the case.

    ME Tag position.jpg

This pic shows the Tag position for an ME and shows the pull down levers were longer and had separate shafts, so different from the illustration shown in the 1928 catalogue.

    ME Tag from FB.jpg

Drum Roll, there you go Vann So based on your earlier comments (Leicester on second line by itself) is this a 1927 ME?

I could see you first cut and paste pics.
    The catalog is NOT 1928.

    Edited in Red. 4/19/24 5.15pm .

    My Mistake.

Thanks, not sure why some Copy & Paste work while others don't.

I corrected the year to 1928

    Hey Vann

That tag is off my EQ in Melbourne Australia.

Also, I'll have a few more tags for you shortly.

    Cheers
    Andy

The tag on my ME is on the RHS just above the handles similar to the one in pic.

    Mines ME 513.

Yes it looks like it - almost certainly.

However, I would need to ask my Wadkin contact to be 100% sure.

    Cheers, John.

Does your contact have Test Record books going back to the 1920 like he had for my 1954 EX?

    Hi Andy,

It's the Test Number we need to date your ME, Wadkin used a pre printed book of numbers and the number from the page where they Tested the machine was recorded on the TAG

Here's an example of my 1954 EX

    EX Wadkin Test Report.jpg Tag.jpg

    Cheers Nigel
