why is it that most of the trim around is 11mm thick? i need thinner trim that is 9-10mm thick. Any ideas folks?

Wait a few years and it’ll be down that thin used to be 1/2” was the thinnest, then 12mm now some is 11 with primer! What trim is it? You could ask the local joinery to run it off for you if you don’t have a thicknesser. Or you could plane it yourself with an electric planer.

thanks mic-d. me with an electric planer is a recipe for disaster. I am so lame and hopeless with the thing. It sits there, gleefully watching me when i go into my shed. Taunting me from the tool cupboard. I can hear it now ..." c'mon, just a little trim... you can do it this time....forget about the past...that index finger on your left hand was useless anyway...."
