    Jason,

Many a mumbling recently about how unreasonably calm and tranquil it is here with open slather gobbling up all the excitement. Well now there is a buzz of controversy and confrontation, love and hate, bait and bite - no big deal really. If anything it has awoken some from a lurking coma

The forum has survived bigger and more exciting things than this and members come and go. Mutinous sailors, atilla the honey troll, and shedfoot - hey I wonder if shedfoot is an American measurement?

With foot firmly in teeth I'll go now

    Cheers

If he cracks it coz it is too much work cleaning up after twits who won't abide the rules, what will happen to the forum?

Maybe the forum could close if the moderators job gets too hard
The orange room was setup to try and reduce moderators workloads.
Maybe this is only a teething problem.

But maybe the rule breakers should only have access to the orange room and not be able to access the main forum.

Btw this is an international forum with both dotcom and dotcomau addresses.
Which means yanks etc should be welcomed here without being denigrated because of attitudes of their political leaders. This is a woodies forum.
I hope ubeaut sells his stuff internationally because of this forum.

    No wonder my reddie didn't seem to dent his rep.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

I, along with several other members, consider swearing obscene and I think that swearing is not considered fully exceptable in society. Shedhand, i believe that you have stepped way over the line with some of your posts lately and you have deeply offended me, especially with your post about the Pope's coffin. Show some respect for a man that has probably done more for humanity in the last 20 years than any other person.

    Mick,
you hit the nail on the head with your post. I reckon we are all merely guests of this club house - albeit that some of us are registered guests, senior, junior etc. and as such we respect (not much respect around these days) the wishes of the owners and managers of our club - bottom line.

To Bodgy - I believe the term Yarpie is derived from the name Japie which is short for Plaas Japie which means farm boy (in Souf Effrika) and his name could also be Japie. This term was/is mainly reserved for the Afrikaans speaking section of the population. Thats from an english speaking honorary ex-japie.

Thanks for that Les. I find the derivation of words really fascinating. Never screwed up the courage to ask any natives.

I'm not one to jump in at the deep end and this time is no different, being a newbie I follow the thread and gather a collective feeling and then apply my own sentiments after careful deliberation of the discussion currently at hand. I have read and re-read this thread and come to my decision, we are all right and shed.....? whatever his name is, is wrong, see, so easy to foget people who do not interest me!....I'm happy now!...Is everyone else happy, just ignore the ones you wish too, I'll not read any further posts by what's his name!...

I go away for a couple of days and look what happens.
    Missed all the fun.

Have noticed a degeneration of attitude.
Always thought we were woodies first then nationality second.

well personally i just got back after a few days away and i am a bit disappointed in the way the forum has gone. but the thing that troubles me most is how did shedhand get the rep points he has in such a short time with so few postings? it took me much longer than that to get all the green lights on and many more postings. i smell a rat, and niot a woodrat either. byb the way did i tell everyone i bought a woodrat today????
