Default The weather is a first for me

Moved to the sunshine coast 20 years ago. Seen plenty of storms roll over in the afternoon during the long hot humid days of summer... Today! First storm, though it wasn't right over head and the lightening was a few seconds away, about 7:30 this morning. Didn't feel the need to run around and unplug everything. Second one, a rager with 3 lightning strikes within a few hundred metres, 11:30am. That was a jump up and unplug everything real fast. Third one, not as big as the second but we left everything unplugged as there's always one. And what a one it was. One hell of a lightning strike that scared the wife. Generally, we get one strike in close proximity every once or twice a year, maybe, and then no more, but four today. Nope, check that, five!! Just now.

Needless to say, we don't go near the windows or stand outside and marvel at the storm LOL. There's lots of gum trees in the park and I haven't seen any of them die from being hit but the palms around our neighbours' yards, they don't seem to take the hit well - just sticks now
