Building wardrobe
Hello fellas
Joined this forum to learn from you experts.
I have a WIR space and I'm planning to order flatpacks online (3 separate robe units) and fit them into my space. I have the following rookie questions
1. Once I have placed my assembled wardrobes in the area, how do I secure them against the wall?
2. I'm planning to cover my individual robe units by large shelves so that I can put suitcases, etc on its top. What material you suggest to use for those top shelves and where to buy it?
3. As I live in Perth my internal walls are solid brick, how do I screw things into it. Any special way of attaching wood to these tough walls
Cheers
Wogkid

place a rail on the shelves, two by one by one should be sufficient, as far as the tops go it depends on the span that'll hold the cases but remember that empty cases don't weigh much no matter what span they need to cover. Just remember there are lots of possibilities for fixing to brick go to hardware store and ask.

If you are buying flatpack cabinets won’t they already come with adjustable shelves to use? Maybe you can order extra shelves so that they match the cabinetry
As far as fixing to the wall, the cabinet will likely come with a base ( plinth) or have adjustable legs to support them. Once you have them correctly in position you will just need a couple of fixings into the wall so they don’t move. There are multiple options at the hardware store to do this and a typical plug and screw is all that is needed but choose the method that is easiest for you to do
