What is the deal with Images in a PM
When we PM someone on forum is sending an image in the PM not an option?
When I click the insert image thingy when in a PM this comes up.
Does that mean I can only send an image that has a web address?
And there is no way of sending my image from my computer?

So does an image already posted in any thread on this or any other forum have a URL?
I just opened an image in a new tab and see it does.
So how does one give an image a URL ? Post it in a thread then copy and paste the URL into the PM?
Why is it set up this way?

Below are the only ways vBulletin allows you to add a picture to a PM.
If you have the image on the forum you can right click on it and hit "Copy image address" this address can then be sent as a link via the "Link" icon or as a picture via the "Insert image" link.
This will only work for pictures that are online, be they yours or someone else's, on here, or anywhere else on the internet.
The only other way around it is to download a pic onto your album and do the "right click / Copy Image Address" thing in the album page and use that link in the PM if you don't want to have the picture viewed online.
Unfortunately this is one of those problems we have absolutely no power over.

In nearly nineteen years as a member on the forum I have only once received a pic in a PM. It was from somebody who is a lot more tech savvy than I and it was before we went to the current format..

That's a useful tip thanks Neil.
I couldn't imagine just posting a picture at the end of one of my threads or any thread without having to then explain why its been put there.
I suppose I could use an image hosting site like some people do. I don't have that though.
FB or Instagram I do have . Maybe there as well is an option.
