I had success with the mystery nut sizes for lower wheel shaft thread. Turns out it was a shallow (only very slightly) cut BSW 1" 8tpi thread hence why when I tried the nuts I bought wouldn't fit. My dad happened to have a tape and die which we ran over both threads and nuts, the results now being a perfect fit.

Vann, who would have thought? It seriously had me stumped! I guess not all BSWs are equal. Glade I only spent a few dollars on the nuts I bought in the process.

Yes! This had me scratching my head. Very little material was removed.

OK brains trust I need some electrical guidance\opinions. Could this switch be used (of course there is the safety concern of an old switch - I'll chat to a sparky to see how best I could make it safe)? They owner said he removed the asbestos seals & gave it a clean other than that it seems complete?

My bad someone missed adding pics. At this stage I am thinking of it'll be connect straight into 3 phase. Although I did read "The VFD doesn't care if the connected motor is star or delta, more that the windings are rated for the correct voltage" as this is a STAR motor I thought I couldn't run it off a VFD. The only real reason why I would run it off a VFD is is because of impatience. I've got a sparky mate who said he would help hook up 3 phase for me in my workshop but that was 6 months ago. BUT the intent is to run it off 3 phase as I've got other 3 phase machines so don't want to buy 1/2 dozen VFDs for each one.
I have included the motor tag below too...

Hi Charl.
That's an isolating switch - and a damn good one from the looks. I'm unfamiliar with the blue cylindrical thingy sticking out the bottom.
You must (by law) be able to isolate your machine. If your machine is fitted with a plug, you can simply pull the pug to isolate the machine. On the other hand, if your machine is hard-wired then you need an isolating switch. I fit isolating switches to mine anyway, to save the hassle of pulling plugs.
You could use it as a Start/Stop switch for your machine, but it's not recommended. I recommend a DOL starter, which incorporates a contactor.
Some vintage MEM DOL contactors:

A vintage Crabtree DOL starter:

And a pair of modern DOL contactors:
eMod.jpg Ugly! Give me a vintage one any day .
A DOL starter will reset to the "Off" position if there's a power cut, whereas that isolating switch will stay in the "On" position and the motor will restart when power is restored - which could be dangerous, and could also leave your machine running of for hours/days if power was restored while you're away. The other advantage of a DOL starter is you should get one sized to the amp rating of your motor - then if the motors is under strain the DOL will trip out, greatly reducing the chances of burning out your motor.
A VFD is also good if you want to vary the speed - which you would only want on a bandsaw if you wanted to cut both wood (fast) and metal (slow). I would also save you the cost of a DOL starter/contactor.
Cheers, Vann.Gatherer of rustyplanestools...

Not too many of these around. Spotted another one here in Brisbane. Captured pics for record keeping:

Mine has a very different blade guide system.

Thanks for bothering to post this, I saw the ad but didn’t look closely at the photos.
That’s a nice example with only a few bits missing.
If I was 20 years younger I’d probably see if I could swap a spare Barker double disc for it.
Id then have to rehome my 20” Bursgreen
I went for a trawl thru their showroom and they have this unusual double disc up for sale.
Roberts Bro’s a make I’d never heard of.
Probably a converted lineshaft machine looking at the motor mounts etc.

I like that.
Ive never seen that make before either in the short time Ive been interested in machinery.
At a glance I first thought it was chain driven with those three belts on it.
The tilt tables on it look like a later fabrication. I wonder what originally was on it.

Interesting pic's in this link A Double Ended Grinder/Sander, belt driven - by Roberts Br… | Flickr
Looking at the pic's I would say it was the same model machine, but this one has Grinders attached instead
Sorry not really anything to do with Wadkin DN
