Please assist with identity and use of this liquid tipping devise
The item mentioned above is a copper (I think) vessel mounted on gimbals on a stand and designed to tip 90 degrees in one direction only to discharge its contents through a spout that is on the top rim of the vessel. There is a pipe in front for injecting a fluid/liquid into the vessel that is held in a vertical position by an elementary locking device.

If the bottom of the copper part sits inside the iron bowl, then the pipe-work probably is the heating. Steam or hot water, effectively making it a double-boiler.

Thank you for the replies chaps, i have not dismantled it yet but it does look like is functioned as a double boiler.

Hi Jeffen, on further reading i and intrigued by the facinating story of the three poles and enigma.
