Default Metalwork Forum a Waste of Time

I seriously do not know why you bother posting links to the "new" metalwork forum.

I have been trying to activate my account on that "forum" since last week - I can log in but can not do anything else. Have sent message to the "admin" of the place to try to resolve the issue with not even the courtesy of a response.

Total waste of time and effort if you ask me.

I remember helping sort out your login info here, due to you having an defunct email address and that’ll most likely be your problem over there as well.

And your email may have been missed due to changing servers here and over there plus the email server was down.

I have reported the problem further up the line and hopefully we can get you sorted out soon.
    Cheers

    DJ

I for one do appreciate the links. While I do not look at Metalwork Forums verbatim, there is the odd post in the 'New Posts' that I will look at. Might only be one or two a week and the links work fine for me.

Hi BMKal, I think the problem with email has returned to that forum. I'll see if I can find an hour this evening to reconfuire it so it works the same as this site and will be more reliable.

Thanks DJ. I've never had a login on that forum in the past, and it had no problem accepting my email & password this time when I registered. I can log on to the forum no problems, but when I first logged on, I received a message that the forum was sending a message to my email that I would have to respond to in order to "activate" the account. I have never received that email.

    Hello BMKal

    No emails received from you.

I will go to MWF and fix your problem for you in a couple of minutes.

Been a bit busy checking and getting rid of heaps of potential spammers who have managed to sneak through our Under Atack net which we have on for this forum at the moment.

Around 1 million + attackers being refused entry per day.

    Cheers - Neil

    All done.

You should be able to login now and all will work for you.

If not please let me know.

I have also sent you an email so if you still have a problem, please respond to that email and all things being equal you should get a reasonably quick response. Should...

    Cheers - Neil

The primary mod in metal work is very ill so a bit of patience is required until he recovers.

Thanks very much Neil. All is now working well, and I'm looking forward to learning from the forum (my metalworking skills are very "ordinary").

Default Also have not received activation email (and cannot edit profile)

    Hi Neil, Chris, All,

Any chance of assistance to get my Metalworkforums account activated as well? I have not received the activation email either.
I also can't access my newly registered profile here either (SQL error), but at least this forum sent me an activation!

    Kind regards
    Craig
