    OK Jim, I'm sold - gotta have a couple of these....

    If it's as easy as you describe it would be ideal for me for some jobs. When I first saw the OP I totally misconstrued the way it works, and thought it was tightened only by the thumbwheel ("forefingerwheel" sounds a bit clumsy), but now I understand how it really works, it's far more intelligent...

    I use spring clamps, G clamps and F clamps daily and a sash cramp occasionally. Each have their pros & cons imho.

    I like the quick action of the Dawn clamps per the OP's thread, however I have developed a routine where I speed up the closing of a G clamp, by holding the handle and spinning the body to wind it open or closed all one handed somewhat like a kids spin clacker. Works well up to 4" G clamps, above that you need pretty good wrist strength.
