    Default Boots for wide feet

Anyone else got wide feet? What brand of boots do you find give the best fit? Currently wearing Steel Blue Waggas, 10 1/2, but still a bit tight. Maybe hiking boots, whatever?

FXD boots are nice to folks with wide feet. Their half sizes are great. I've got this one in 10.5 WB.1 WORK BOOT 6.0 - Wheat

Call the Boot Warehouse, they have a shop in Caringbah but also operate a very good online store. I have been using them for years.

They carry a wide range of brands and give good advice on the fitting characteristics of the different brands

You have a problem with 101/2's. I am naturally a 13 extra wide, currently wear American SAS shoes in 14 wide (last couple of pairs 2 years ago $400pr) for general shoes, last me around 10yrs though, and King Gee lace up/zip sides in a 141/2 for work boots. Have had this set 6 yrs, they are starting to look tatty, but well under 1/3 worn. I was killing the soles of Blunnies in about 6 months doing parcel post deliveries or factory work.

It might pay to try some specialist shoe stores or work wear stores, they tend to have wider ranges than your department store footwear departments.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

    I'm a 13 1/2W.

My favourite boots are from Rivers. The label says "4299mboot"

Last time they were on super special I bought SIX pairs! Wearing pair #2 now (1 month) after 3 years.... and the previous are still good for scruffs.

    Rivers Goodyear Leather Welt Boot

Nice, basic, easy pull on and comfy.

I've got wide feet & have found Rossi boots comfortable & unlike Blundstones, the soles don't fall apart.

I've found Steel Blue steel caps to be the most comfortable and easy to slip in and out of for areas where steel caps are concerned.
For around the shed, i've got a pair of Blundstone 793 Safety Runners which are excellent. They have a composite toe and elastic lases, so you can slip them on and off like a pair of slippers. Brilliant for not tracking wood dust throughout the house.

Just in case you are wondering...
Rang Boot Warehouse on Friday, spoke to the salesperson and ordered their recommended Mongrel 10 1/2's. Delivered Monday, plenty of room for a wide foot!

I happened to buy a pair of Mongrel Zipsiders on Monday (safety toe). Super comfy for me, and no real need to wear them in.
