Default I'm finally starting what I always wanted to do.

Hi my name is Travis and I've just started my new business Sivart Woodcraft, which I have wanted to do for the past 20 years.

I am a builder and carpenter by trade and while having some down time due to delays on site I decided to finally put my plans into action. I look forward to the many lessons I will learn and the advice from those more experienced than me.
I'm in Brisbane Australia and would love to meet some fellow woodworkers in my local area so give us a shout-out.

    Cheers all.

Hi Travis and welcome to the Forum, so what are you planning to make and do you have any woodworking machines to start you on your way, setup of machines can be a large capital outlay needing to be offset over a few years of business.

I have a table saw, jointer, thickness planer, dust extractor, a plethora of hand tools, drill press. I run a building company so I have a fair few tools that should start me up somewhat. As I grow I will upgrade as needed.
First I plan on making slab tables, I have already built my family a decent dining table and a few coffee tables here and there. I have started experimenting with epoxy and different finishing techniques. I also do serving boards for clients as a thankyou out of camphor biscuits. One day I will do the finer furniture like hall tables with full joinery, possibly try doing a chair or two. Open to all experiences at this point.

    G'day Trav

All the best. A few Brisbane-based members of the forum.

Sounds like you're well ahead of the eight-ball on getting cracking. All the best. Most of all, don't fear the dark side! (hand tool woodworking).
