Hi,
How do I edit my profile and add a signature etc.
Every time I try, I get this message...

I'm not certain with regard to editing your profile, but I know your posts have to go through moderation as a new member and you have extremely limited PM capability, so it is possible that editing a profile may have similar restrictions. The good news is that as you contribute and post on the site, you gain credibility and restrictions automatically reduce. This is fundamentally part of the forums anti spam protection to limit the exposure of the rest of us to spammers joining and filling our mil boxes with garbage.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

I've been a shipwright all my life mainly building pleasure craft ranging from mono hulls to large sailing catamarans and done many full timber fit outs in all those fancy rain forest timbers from far away lands that we better not go near now!
Also built 3 owner built houses, furniture, numerous sheds etc,
Projects in the future-new kitchen at home and I better start chewing through the couple of cube of Euro oak that I've had racked in my shed for 30 years making some bookshelves, entertainment cabinets and so on for the house. My favorite timber by a long shot...
And you ?

Thanks for that, had a look at a few posts of yours and others and the thought I had is how woodworking encompasses many other skills that are really needed- mech engineering ( when we're servicing, repairing and modifying our equipment ),painting and all that is involved with surface finishing projects all the way through to french polishing, which I've never done but boy is that an art.Sharpening and honing our tools, certainly a needed skill and so on.Now that I'm so called retired (which is a joke as #1 keeps me on the move),I hope to have more time to get involved in some other aspects of timber work and contribute in this great forum.
