Clueless in Seattle
Hello, all: I'm Evelyn. I have lots of great fixer-upper furniture projects stalled in progress because I don't really know what I'm doing, so I'm trying to learn a little about how woodworking actually works. YouTube videos can only take me so far, so I'm hoping to find some wiser heads here that I might be able to ask for help & advice.

G'Day & Welcome to the Great Southern Land and to a top forum"Evelyn"......
There are quite a few members from across the USA and the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Especially a top mob of blokes on the toymaking & scale modeling section of the forum.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.....
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, crowie

Thanks, all!
Thanks so much for all the warm welcomes.
I only just now realized that this is an Aussie forum - as a 'Murkin I am especially glad to be welcomed here. I was lucky enough to visit Australia once years ago, until I was sadly chased out by drop bears.
In a complete departure from anything I had planned, I'm working on a little carving of a stylized bird. It's from some scrap Douglas Fir lumber I had lying around, so I'm calling it "Firred Bird."

*There must be something wrong with my camera. All those scratches and half-shaved bits & little tiny holes(?!) aren't visible on the actual item.
