I saw the game and thought it was the best I have ever seen.
I was disgusted at the booing and other behaviour, I don't care what they do "over there" - let's leave it there and show them what a true sports nation behaves like.
If soccer crowds here want riot police, wire mesh cages and crowd scanning cameras by the dozen then let's just ban the sport now. No wait a minute, just ban the crowds.
Anyway, well done Oz! Now treat the losers well, they played well and hard.

Since there are only a dozen or so AFL teams in the world, and it's just about the most regionally confined game this side of Toss the Fish in Outer Fondu, I would have thought the ABC test pattern would have rated higher than the AFL grand final.
OH! Of course, you were talking about ratings in Victoria, and it's southern sub-state!
Fair enough!

I managed to wrestle the tv off the kids for a couple of hours and watch it. Seeing their faces as I held my head and whinged during some moments and then me going completely off towards the end was entertainment enough.
fantastic stuff

The Soccer ratings were the same as for Dancing with the Stars? Nuff said....
An AFL final with Eagles and Swans, no wonder no one was watching...........
Too each his own though.
