    Default Ever noticed this ?

Ive noticed this a few times.

I watch the Activity stream / Woodwork Forum Spy section to see whats being posted sometimes .

In the Spy section I see a post has been posted on a thread I'm interested in .

So I go to the thread in its section to read in full but its not there to be read. I go back to Spy section and watch it progress down the list and leave eventually .

Nothing shows in the thread where this post belongs for hours . This post I was wanting to read last night was posted at 7.05PM , when I noticed it in Spy section , I stopped looking for it and refreshing screen in Vintage machinery at 8.20PM

I'm not sure when it arrived in its place . I only got to read it this morning and confirm it was posted at 7.05 PM the night before.

Its probably something to do with a slow forum or some old forum problem . I'm not really asking for anything to be done about it.

Just interested if any one knows why this happens ?

Remember that new members go through moderation for a number of posts before being free rein in the Forums. I don't normally use the Activity stream so am not sure what the overall sequence is, but it may be that the activity is noted before the post makes it to moderation and hence the thread. Delay before making it into the thread then depends on posting time and the availability of moderators.

I could be totally wrong, but I suspect that this may be a viable explanation, particularly since your quoted example specifically says the poster was a new member.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

What Malb said, I’ve just approved Beanboy’s post.
