Just to clarify my statement - I have a wanted post - Cox Ride on mower seat.... over in marketplace.
I was sent a message that this person (only one post) had an uncle who had my item and could I contact him via his email - email address given.
It looked to me like a phishing type message similar to those we used to receive in our email inbox.
I deleted the message and didn't respond.
The user name I have forgotten but it was a series of characters that had no meaning.

Yes report them and if you receive a PM that is suspicious, you can report them as well.
If you can’t report the user, click and copy the username and PM it to me and I’ll look into it.Cheers

I looked at this thread earlier and perused who was on line, trying to work out how you could tell multiple users were the same.
Anyway it's still in my history so I can see who I looked at and saw these three on the same IP address 103.124.95.192 back at 2:24pm.

Must be state sponsored cyber criminals data mining our forum members IP.
It is a timely reminder though about how insecure forums can be and that the "target" may actually be financial details contained within PM's etc.
Then there are the mischief makers who do it because they can.
A very good mate and myself (both registered surveyors formally trained in the professional use of GPS) went through a trying period back circa Y2K about GPS on a forum with a particular individual using a number of "identities" to co-ordinate personal attacks and to promote misinformation. He got a very big surprise when caught out red handed, and "out of the blue" was served with a nicely drafted "cease and desist" letter from our lawyer delivered to his business address! There is always a digital trail ....
Oh and come the Y2K rollover our recreational GPS units fared well because the manufacturer had implemented an upgrade program for legitimately imported units - the brands he was pushing and the "grey imports" of other units / brands all "fell over" as we said they would - but what would we know - we knew the data message structures could not facilitate Y2K.
Never assume that your digital presence is "secure" or truly "anonymous" as there are always "smarter" people out there with various agendas, both lawful and nefarious. Now if only they would nail spammers and scammers.Mobyturns

We should thank the mods for the work they do to prevent the spammers causing too much disruption, it's no doubt a persistent job. There are stats on the home page about how many spammers have been denied access. It's a sobering thought the figure is over half a million!
Thank you to the Benevolent Dictator and his Vassals!Franklin

Remember a little while back this Forum was "off the air" for a couple of days? I received a PM from Neil telling me that I will not be able to access the Forum because my IP address (and a few others) had brought in a Trogon which created havoc and forced the shut down of the Forum. I could still access the Metalwork Forum so I was able to converse with Neil on it. He said that If I had a different IP address that that would "fix" my problem. We are on a Satellite connection and our provider would not change my IP address. I was not happy at all. To his credit Neil was able to "allow" my IP to access the WW Forum only by going through the "I am human" method.
I am very grateful for Neil going the extra mile to keep me connected. The Forum plays a large roll in my daily life so it was important to me to keep the connection. I get timed out which means I keep having to go through the "I am Human" often depending on what I am reading. Writing this message will mean I will have to go through the procedure when I get to the end.
As I said I am very grateful to Neil to get me connected again. My computer skills are rudimentary so he could see that I was innocent in this breach. Why do these Mongols do it?
Is it how they get their jollies by making someone else the patsy. I am on alert when I bring up a link which says "NOT SECURE" and immediately get rid of the link
I will get off my soap box and get back under my rockJust do it!
Kind regards Rod
