*waving* from WI, USA!
I'm new to woodworking but loving it! I started making charcuterie boards with live edge black walnut and resin this past spring and have learned a lot--mostly by trial and error. Thanks for adding me to the group!

G'Day & Welcome to the Great Southern Land and to a top forum......
There are quite a few members from across the USA and the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Especially a top mob of blokes on the toymaking & scale modeling section of the forum.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.....
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, crowie

Thanks for the warm welcome! We're not drowning here, lol! Cool weather, headed into fall with lots of color starting in the leaves. I'll be scanning the boards here for lots of tips.

Welcome, Carrie. We have a connection. My great grandparents on my father’s side were born and married in WI (Shawano) before coming to South Australia as a Lutheran pastor and wife. I still have a number of relatives in the state.
One thing to remember when looking at these forums. Most of the members are Australian and use local timber. The native timber is HARD (not hard like hard maple but HARD like concrete). Even if the common name sounds familiar, that’s only because the first settlers thought it looked a bit like a timber they knew. But it won’t be the original timber, but some local variety. It’s fun to see what we use but sometimes the advice is coloured by the kind of material we use ( it does make us very good at sharpening!)Cheers
