Durden Blade Setter
Noticed this in the window of our local antique shop today, so had to bring it home at the grand price of $28.

You probably need to explain to any northern hemisphere formites that this is made 'down-under'.

In the northern hemisphere they're used to having 'LOW' below 'HIGH'.
But seriously - nice acquisition.

Is it magnetic or just a height gauge?

Just a height gauge. It's got two feet that sit on the table & a plunger that the blades push up as they're rotated. A pointer in the window shows if the blades are higher or lower than the table. The yellow "SET" area is 0.005" of plunger movement. I don't know how easy it will be to use, but I just thought it was an interesting thing & for $28 just had to have it.

I have the Wadkin equivalent. And for the same reasons - but I had to pay $50 for mine (still a good price).
