Default Disable notifications for post I "Like"

When I click "Like" on a post, I receive a notification to tell me that I "Liked" a post.

Whilst I appreciate that the average age of forum members is, how shall I put this, on the mature end of the spectrum, I don't think we're that far over the hill that we need reminding of something we've just done.

Is there any way to disable it?

    I think it is:
Settings (Top menu bar) - My Settings - DBTech-Post Thanks, Settings - Notification Settings - (Tick the two disable boxes) - Save Changes.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

I think this removes notifications for all "likes", not just posts that I "Like".

To clarify, I don't mind being shown when others have "liked" my post. I just don't want to be notified when I like a post.

To demonstrate, I just clicked "Like" to the post above, and in a day or so, I will get a notification to tell me that I liked the post, which seems superfluous.

Lance is this a pop up/email notification or is this from your Profile “Post Thanks / Likes” page?
    Cheers

    DJ,

When I arrive at the site, I get the notification in the page header if I clicked "Like" on a post:

Clicking the notification opens the profile page, showing the posts I have liked (image above).

Ok, that’s the same as I do as well, but I don’t get a notification if I’ve liked/thanked a post, only when someone likes/thanks one of my posts. But in saying that, I can still see likes/thanks in my profile page.

I’ll have a look at your settings and see if I can figure out what’s going on.
    Cheers

    DJ

    Lance

I can’t see anything out of the ordinary.

The only thing I can think of, are you logging out after each visit?
Have you ticked the “Remember Me?” box when you’ve logged in so that you stay logged in?
Or is your browser setup up to delete Cookies when you closed it?

I never log out, but I did just after liking some posts and when I logged back on, there was a notification in the header for posts that I liked.
    Cheers

    DJ

That's some really impressive sleuthing DJ. Thanks for your effort.

I do stay logged in, and don't delete cookies. This behaviour also takes place without me closing my browser. I do however make judicious use of tabs in Edge, and knowing its enhanced privacy defaults wonder if that has anything to do with it.

I go to the new posts page, then run down the list opening a new tab for each post I'm interested in. Then I close the search tab after I read each post, close its tab until there are no more WWF tabs open.

I may try using Chrome to browse the forums today, and see if that has any effect.

    Hi,
Some one has been stirring the pot. I got a notification that some one liked one of my posts again this morning, which has not happened for a long time.
    Regards
    Hugh
