old deck, last treated possibly 2009 boards are 90mm wide flat one side and length ways rippled if that makes sense,

most likely mission brown paint, but possibly a stain of some sort. this has worn through in places and disappeared in others.
I tried various stains on it but nothing is covering completely,

due to type of boards cannot be stripped so am I best using a quality outdoor PAINT and resealing each year or so.
