Hello from WA!
My name is Jo, and my hubby (Ross) and I are both web developers who enjoy making stuff (and especially woodworking) in our “free time.”
We’re currently turning our 2 car garage into a woodworkers’ paradise - we’re on our second cleat wall! It’s a slow job but fun.
We haven’t done much hand tool work, carving or wood turning, although we do live around the corner from the Wandi woodturners... but they meet early and we’re night owls
Before I turned developer, I worked as an engineer and I have a double degree in metallurgy and chemistry. Hubby has an IT background, and likes tinkering with electronics and tech gadgets. I love crafting and woodworking is really just... BIG CRAFT.
Current projects:
- more cleat walls & holders
- dust hood for mitre saw
- chopping board for my sis
- picture frame for mum
I look forward to picking all of your knowledgeable brains!

Welcome, look forward to seeing your output.
I note you put Perth as your location but if Wandi wood turners are around the corner isn't that more like Mandurah than Perth?

Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have film.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Jo".....
There are quite a few members in Perth and across West.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork..
Cheers crowie
