In the absence of topic proposers, I suggest we have a general chin wag and maybe we can help Simon out with burning wood

Sadly I may be not able to make this week myself due to a local electron outage that's meant to be all day

    Cheers
    Phil

I will play tomorrow as I find it. We are going to Warrnambool for the weekend leaving at 2:30 when Jools finishes work. I have a bit to get through before we go.

If it turns out that I can afford a 40 minute break I might make it.

It might also be that I NEED a 40 minute sit-down by that time.

Or I might get stuck on the roadworks near the ring road on the way home again.

    The possibilities are endless.

If I make it, I make it. If not those who make it, enjoy.
I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

Considering Phil's outstanding custodianship of The Prattle™ over the holidays, I spoke to him yesterday and he has agreed to be the cat herder going forward.

As I explained to Phil, with my second daughter starting university this year, she has arranged her schedule to have Fridays off. Her being a keen hiker/anything outdoors person, rather then my regular in-the-shed Fridays I'm getting out and about as much as possible together with this time we've been gifted.

That said, I will no doubt be around more in the dead of winter or when the assignment/exam load is high.

It's been a real joy and weekly highlight spending time with you all over the last nine months, and look forward to being able to participate again in the future.

Work commitments mean I can't participate this week, but I should be good for next week.

Well it wasn't a big turnout this week. Just Simon and me. But we had a good natter about tools and sharpening.

On that note, Paige was trying to convince me to give hand tools a go, planes in particular. Here’s what I found in the shed

Looks like a Stanley No 4, a Brilliant, and a no-name. Any of them any good?

And a lie-Nielsen LN271 small router plane, which is the only one I attempted to use.

Found a sharpening thing under some junk. Is that anything?

Next set of questions will be on chisels and sharpening technique

They can all be made to work. Not sure about the sharpening thing, Will have to have a look at it.

Sorry I didn't make it in today, the electrons stayed missing from action and my phone connection is so-so most of the time in the house, data wise at least.

Good to see a couple made it in today.

    Cheers
    Phil
