Default WANTED NEW DISTRIBUTOR U-Beaut Products - Newcastle Area

We have had a recent spate of enquiries from Newcastle users wanting to get our products in the Newcastle Area.

So with that in mind we need to see if we can find Distributor for our products in the Newcastle Area rather than have people travel to Sydney or order online.

If anyone has any ideas of someone who might be interested in becoming a distributor I would be grateful fo any information I can get.

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE IN A DISTRIBUTOR

    • Self starters preferably skilled woodturners with maybe a craft or turning supplies business. (Not essential but would be a big help)
    • Ideally a user of our friction polishes who may be able to demonstrate with confidence to people at club level, exhibitions, etc.
    • Would prefer someone who could carry products from our entire range not just the friction polishes. (Not 100% necessary but would be a big help)
    • We are not looking to load a person or business up with thousands of dollars worth of stock.
    • We just need a place where Novocastrians can get their goodies without travelling for hours.

If you think you fit the bill or know of a business that might be interested, please contact me for more details.

    Cheers - Neil

    Thumbs up More information added

The below is copied form U-Beaut Polishes Sponsors Forum.

WHAT I WOULD BE HAPPY WITH:

    • Anyone in Newcastle or surrounding districts prepared to hold stock of our most wanted products
    • Ideally it would be a shop. However.....
    • Could be a forum member or trusted individual who wants to supplement their income and would be happy to have people come to them for pickup.
    • Doesn't have to be a woodturner but someone who knows and uses our products would be a help.

    INTERESTED?
    WANT MORE INFO?
    RING OR EMAIL ME?

    Cheers - Neil

Neil, the same would apply to Taree, Port Macquarie and all the way to Coffs Harbour. The problem for us people in rural areas is transporting the products listed as "dangerous goods".

I would love to gat a number of small distributors from Gosford up to Coffs so people could go pickup what they want and not have to travel for hours or pay for excessive freight charges due to DG excess.

Used to sell to Woodturners of The Hunter for their shop but haven't heard from them in over 5 years.

Happy to sell to Clubs to distribute to their members and others in areas without an existing distributor. I have one simple rule for selling to clubs is: The club must sell at full retail price with the profits going into the club coffers or to a preferred charity.

Club members on the whole are happy to pay the full price and see the profit go back to the club. Even though most would rather get it cheaper. But when you break down travelling time and freight charges and add in the convenience of getting it from around the corner it can in many instances, work out to be quite a handsome discount if you stop and think about it.

A couple of clubs were banned in the past because they were selling to members at a heavy discount and big mouthed members bragged to distributors that they could buy cheaper at the club than from them.

If the club can't abide by the rules they don't get the goodies.

Any way it's just a thought.

    Cheers - Neil

Sorry Old Hilly, but to whom did you send the PM. I haven't received one nor an email.

Can you check your sent PMs' and make sure it went. If it did can you forward it to me. Please make sure the spelling of ubeaut is correct.

Well, I just clicked on the green "ubeaut'' thing then found the "send message" thing, noted that you would be able yo know my email address and wrote the message and clicked on send. Only God and whoever wrote the software knows what happened after that. I assume the message went to an email address you originally specified but which may have changed over time as nothing has turned up yet. I assumed that it would be using the same email address that the software uses to notify you when there is a posting made to a thread that you either started or replied to, just as I was notified of your reply.
The bloody things out there somewhere. Probably sitting under some fat gremlin's backside making him more comfortable than Scotty Morrison sitting on a beach in Hawaii.

We've had 3 distributors in Canberra over the years but they keep on closing down. Definitely like to get another one.

    Sydney and surrounds:
    AUBURN: Carba-Tec (NSW) P/L
CHURCH POINT: Woodworks Book & Tool Co
    MONAVALE: Timberbits
    MULGRAVE: Trend Timbers

WE NEED NEW DISTRIBUTORS ALL OVER THE PLACE BUT THEY AIN'T EASY TO COME BY.

We won't deal with big box stores like Bunnies or any of the big hardware shops.

We prefer woodwork specialists shops like Carroll's Woodcraft Supplies, Timbecon, Timberbits, Pops Shed, Carba-Tec, etc. craft supplies, woodturning supplies, etc. Shops or people who have used and know our products and aren't just sales people with no knowledge of the products and what they can do.

How about a parcel-locker type thing? No customer touchy-feelyness I know, but a couple of electronically-coded lockers in a sheltered spot, order goes in the locker, customer gets the code and they pop around to collect at leisure. Order and payment side could be dealt with by U-beaut Heavy Industries; collection locally from the locker

I could suggest the missus have a sideline occupation...

I was actually thinking the same, given at least one of us is here 9-5 running our other business anyway.

However, we're about 30 minutes out from Newcastle, and that is likely to put people off
