zinc v colorbond sheds
wind demolished my 15 year old garden shed, the landlord has requested I replace with colorbond but hells bells the price difference.
so I figure with a 20L can of cream paint thats been lying around for awhile and a spray gun I should come out a lot cheaper, but whats the downsides that I am blind too?I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

Primer maybe it’s even called etch primer. You put normal paint straight on zincalume shed pretty sure within a couple of years most paint will fall off and look worse than when you started. However if the landlord only needs to be appease on initial job then go for it,

???? Why are you paying for a new shed if you are only renting, or am I missing something in the story

landlord is a personal friend, we live in the house, they downsized and converted 2 bays of the shed. the garden shed and poly house are all ours so we had more room in the remaining bays of the BIG shed, hence wind destroys it, its still my responsibility.
This is a very unique situation and we are more than grateful living on the block rather than in town.
But they are mildly OCD so everything has to match color wiseI would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

Ok, makes sense now.
If your getting prices from a large green shed, you need to compare with Mitre 10, Stratco.
If you do decide to get zincalum and paint it, wipe down wit acetone first to neutralize the rolling oil from production, then use one of the QUALITY solar specific paints. Personally, you cant beat Haymes paints, substantially better than the other brands. The person who never made a mistake never made anything

false alarm, all sorted, we sat down and yakked. I pay the zinc shed price and they will pay the extra $$ and order the colorbond. Its still my shed, as they want us here and I am not moving into F town I think we have a long term win.
