    Default The Social Strata

Cicero of the Roman Emperor wrote this about the situation during his lifetime :

    1. The poor, work & work.

    2. The rich, exploit the poor.

    3. The soldier, protects both.

    4. The taxpayer, pays for all three.

    5. The wanderer, rests for all four.

    6. The Alcoholic, drinks for all five.

    7. The banker, robs all six.

    8. The lawyer, misleads all seven.

    9. The doctor, bills all eight.

    10. The undertaker, buries all nine.

    11. The Politician lives happily on account of all ten.

The above was written in 43 B.C.

    Still valid today!!!!!!!!!

    Default Some things never change

Similarly, this is a 13th century take on kids...

"The world is passing through troublous times. The young people of today think of nothing but themselves. They have no reverence for parents or old age. They are impatient of all restraint. They talk as if they knew everything, and what passes for wisdom with us is foolishness with them. As for the girls, they are forward, immodest and unladylike in speech, behavior and dress."
(From a sermon preached by Peter the Hermit in A.D. 1274)

In a similar vain, "Children have no respect for their parents!" Would you believe that this comment was made in the days of Julius Caesar

Well, if you had parents like mine it would be completely understandable.
