Gah! Sorry Doug. I had written down on my “prattle paper” that we were going to do your bench this week, but it lives in the shed and I set up the meeting from my office and totally forgot.
If you can connect from the shed, we will do carving next week, and talk benches this week instead.

Lance
Couldn't we carve Doug's name into his bench (when he's not looking)? It will just be like being back at school. "Doug's Bench"
I forgot, I'm supposed to be past that stage now!

This is the link to the largest turned wooden bowl in the world. Recognised by the Guinness Book of Records.

Stan Ray is the chainsaw exponent I mentioned. A couple of pix below:

He also carves hats, old boots and the captivated ball in a cube. All done with a chainsaw. I think he would be about 90 now.
It was a good meeting. Thanks to Doug and Jools for the unveiling of the workbench. Magnificent. I love that it is all recycled.

Thanks Lance.
And thanks everyone for allowing me to show off the bench. If it was not for the quarantine and stuff going on I would have invited the locals around to see the bench but that was not possible. It was good to have the opportunity to show it off in the zoom meeting instead. Not quite the same but the best that can be done. Thanks to all for the nice comments and not carving your initials in it.
Jools is uploading some photos of it in this thread soon.I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.
