    Default Attaching timber to RSJ

I'm adding some walls in a large underfloor area at my sons house, which requires me to box in a 180 x 100 (approx.) RSJ with Plasterboard.

I'm thinking I'll attach suitable sized pine strips, inline with wall studs below, by drilling a small hole through the web, say 4mm, and screwing through the web clamping two pine strip together. In addition I'll glue using Maxbond or similiar.

Thinking I'll use a similar process for attaching wall top plate to the underside of the RSJ, but will drill through the flange at 1200 centres.

interested to get some feedback from the collective brains trust.

So this is either a bad idea or nobody has a clue what I'm talking about.

We just shoot the blocks on with a Ramset gun or similar brand powder actuated fastening tool

but your idea is fine. Sometimes even tightly cut blocks of 3x2 b
