Gone Fishing
Saturday morning I got up early, dressed quietly, made my lunch, grabbed the dog, slipped quietly into the garage to hook the boat up to the truck, and proceeded to back out into a torrential down pour. The wind was blowing 50 mph.
I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad throughout the day.
I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed. There I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered, 'The weather out there is terrible.'
My loving wife of 20 years replied, 'Can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in that crap?'
I still don't know to this day if she was joking, but I have stopped fishing. To grow old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

Speaking of fishing - has anyone else been annoyed by that Jeep ad on TV - the one in which the young boy says, "We need a bigger boat", and looks at the tinny in the driveway. The father says, "Are you ready to go boat shopping?" They drive off in the Jeep.
Now the part that annoys me; the Jeep doesn't have a towbar!!! What the hell are they going to tow the boat with????

When they find their new boat they sell the jeep and get a real car.

Down the road without a (tow) ball.
An up-cycled ad. Note the kids face is not shown after 'gonna need a bigger boat'.

True Story:
My dad finally took an old friend fishing in Canberra on the lake.. taught him ho to do it..
His wife said he became an avid fisherman,
Dad saw him down at the lake. book in hand.. no rod to be seen!.Working on inserting a bit more eccentricity into the bearings of life
