G'Day & Welcome to a top forum Alan.
There are quite a good few members around Adelaide plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie
PS - Alan, May I suggest that you start a new thread in the general or machinery/tool sections asking about the tablesaw advice.
You'll get a lot more views and thus potential answers, cheers.

G'day Alan and Thai, nice to see you here.
Me, let's say I am worried about my fingers (I know I'm being paranoid) but I've just never wanted a table saw.
I just don't trust I'll be able not to swipe a hand into a spinning blade by accident some day. These days I find
myself knocking over glasses on the table, something I never used to do. Damned age creeping up.
I have a Radial Arm Saw (yes, they can be dangerous too, there are no guarantees in life - the RAS can chuck a
chunk of timber across the shop just as well as a table saw) and an 18" bandsaw and
between those two, I've been happily making furniture since 1982. (prior to that, it was hand tools only).
There are more options than table saws out there. I use a track saw for panels for instance, much smaller footprint
in the workshop than a table saw that can take a 4'x8' sheet. Got that 3 years ago when I decided to build my kitchen
out of 18mm birch ply (and still very happy with the track saw, AND the kitchen). Of course, that only cuts to 55mm.
YMMV, of course.

Here a a couple of quick pics I need to move a trailer to get better ones, although these will give the general idea both machines worked when last used, need some elbow grease, grey one comes with a couple of spindles and face plate for sanding disk
Grey one was in use up until 2 years ago I have upgraded to separate machines $300
Green one is a bit of a Franken machine, I think put together from a couple of different models $250--- Take both $500.
