    Default Liogier hand stitched rasp

I purchased the cabinet makers 150mm hand stitched rasp a couple of months ago it is really efficient and removes stock at twice the speed as regular rasps I have four well known makes, the French hand made hand stitched rasp leaves then standing.
The are made to order and made left or right handed.

    That's my experience too.

I bought one of the Auriou double sided rasps a while back to see the difference, was blown away. Need to get some more when the budget allows!

Bought an Auriou at the Wood Show a few years ago and it is always my go-to rasp.

It would be interesting to hear from somebody who has both Logier and Auriou for a comparison. I have several Logiers and one other brand of hand stitched rasp, but it doesn't come close and I have no Aurious. The main problem is getting two rasps of exactly the same type and intended purpose. Ie: 8" cabinet maker's rasp with the same grit.

Yeah I wondered the same when I was buying mine, did a bit of research but most people seemed to indicate they were comparable quality wise.

I have two Auriou rasps - cabinet makers and a model makers. They are excellent.

I also have a Liogier handle makers rasp. It is also excellent.

It is hard to compare due to them all being quite different. Naturally each one does things that the other two cannot, or I would not have the three.

It would not be fair to recommend one brand over another without comparing like with like, which I cannot do.
I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.
