Bayside birds
The last few mornings have been crisp to say the least but with industry and traffic down the air has been very clear.

Some nicely timed shots there Ern. Particularly like the Kelp Gull, he won't be very active for a while as he digests his breakfast. It is surprising how big a fish goes down a birds throat, I have seen quite a few very ambitious birds struggling to orientate a good sized fish so that it goes down the hatch without getting stuck!

Thanks Alan.
No, it stood around for a while and then floated around for a while.
It'd made repeated attempts to swallow and failed, and each time pecked it down a bit to try again.
I'm giving it Pacific rather than Kelp for the size of the beak and the red on the top tip.Cheers, Ern

Oops!. I had Kelp Gull on the brain for some reason. Neither are particularly common in southern Sydney.

You got some very nice shots there Ern. Well timed , and the lighting on the birds is very good.
My favourite would have to be the White Faced Heron in flight, it would make a nice print for the wall.Brad.

Thanks Brad.
Yes, that one's a favorite of mine too.
I've started to do some printing. That's a can of worms. The screen image is only an indication of what you get.Cheers, Ern

G'day Ern, have not seen you on here for ages. You have some nice images there. You know that you can load them full size to the forum?

Thanks John.
I'll have a look.
Currently it won't load anything at all in Chrome, but I'm travelling and it doesn't matter.

Let me know if you need a "how to". It shouldn't matter which browser you use.
